Poland has no glaciers, but several regions offer good winter skiing: the Tatras and Podhale, the Silesian Beskids, the Sądecki Beskids and the Sudetes with the Karkonosze and the Śnieżnik massif. Most resorts use snowmaking, many have floodlit night skiing, and lift passes are increasingly bought online with early-booking discounts.
We have chosen 12 ski areas from our database, from large resorts with gondolas to family slopes for beginners. In October 2026 we checked the price lists on the official websites. Some resorts have already published 2026/27 prices, others still show 2025/26 rates, and we say which applies for each one. Opening dates depend on the weather and snowmaking.

Kotelnica Białczańska is a large ski area in Białka Tatrzańska, with wide floodlit runs, six-seater chairlifts and a snowpark. Białka works well for families, with ski schools, rental shops and the Termy Bania thermal baths next to the slopes. The resort is part of the Tatry Super Ski pass, which covers resorts on both the Polish and Slovak sides.
Passes: in mid-October 2026 the Białka website still showed the promotional price list from the end of the 2025/26 season (4 hours 110 zł, valid until 6 April 2026). Check 2026/27 prices on the resort's website before you go. At weekends and in the school holidays, arrive before the lifts open, as the car parks fill quickly.

Kasprowy Wierch offers high-alpine ski runs, down into the Gąsienicowy and Goryczkowy cirques in the heart of Tatra National Park. You get up on the cable car from Kuźnice, in operation since 1936. This is terrain for confident skiers, and the weather can change very quickly.
Prices: in the low season, from 1 October to 18 December 2026, a return cable car ticket costs 129 zł standard and 109 zł reduced. PKL publishes winter-season and ski pass prices on its website. During the holidays, buy tickets online in advance and set off early, as queues can be long.
Szczyrk Mountain Resort is a ski area with a gondola to Hala Skrzyczeńska, more than 20 kilometres of runs and night skiing. It shares a ski pass with the neighbouring COS station on Skrzyczne, so you can ski a wide variety of runs in one day. Szczyrk is close to Silesia and Kraków, so weekends can be busy.
Passes: day passes are sold through the Gopass system, and season passes for winter 2026/27 are already on sale. Current day prices are on the resort's website, and online is usually cheaper than at the ticket desk.
The COS station on Skrzyczne takes you up the highest peak of the Silesian Beskids (1,257 m). There is a FIS-homologated run and a joint pass with Szczyrk Mountain Resort. A PTTK mountain hut stands on the summit, and in good visibility you can see the Tatras.
Prices: the winter price list is on the COS website; in October 2026 only the summer fares were online. During the holidays, weekdays are the best time to come.

The Soszów ski station in the Jawornik valley in Wisła is a family slope with a four-seater chairlift and six floodlit runs totalling about 6.2 kilometres. Parking is free. A good choice for beginners and families who want to avoid the crowds in Szczyrk.
Prices: the lift pass price list is published on the station's website before the season.
The Pilsko ski area in Korbielów has high-lying runs and a long descent from below the summit of Pilsko of about 3.4 kilometres. Pilsko lies on the Slovak border, which makes it easy to combine with a trip to the other side of the mountains.
Prices: the current lift pass price list is on the resort's website.
Jaworzyna Krynicka is a ski station with a gondola to the summit, 14 runs totalling about 15 kilometres, a 2.6-kilometre descent and night skiing. After skiing you can stroll along the promenade in Krynica-Zdrój or take the funicular up Góra Parkowa.
Prices: the station publishes its lift pass prices on its website.
Wierchomla is a family ski station with a 1,600-metre chairlift and 300 metres of vertical, three T-bars and about four kilometres of easy and intermediate runs. The hotel stands right by the bottom station, so with children you do not need to drive anywhere.
Passes: in the 2025/26 price list a day pass cost 137 zł standard and 121 zł reduced, and a flexible 4-hour pass 105 and 89 zł. Reductions apply to children under 12 and over-60s. The 2026/27 prices will appear on the station's website.
Szrenica Ski Arena has three chairlifts, five drag lifts and 12 kilometres of snowmaking-equipped runs below Szrenica. Szklarska Poręba is on the railway, and the town has plenty of accommodation and things to do on a day off skiing.
Passes: in the winter 2025/26 price list (6 December 2025 to 6 April 2026) a day pass cost 185 zł for adults and 105 zł for children aged 7 to 14, and children up to 6 skied free with an adult holding a valid ticket. Check 2026/27 prices on the resort's website.

From Karpacz, the year-round "Zbyszek" chairlift takes eight minutes to reach the area below the summit of Kopa (1,377 m). In winter it is Karpacz's ski centre, and in good weather hikers head from here towards Śnieżka. Karpacz combines skiing with resort life and a wide choice of accommodation.
Prices: the current winter price list is on the Karpacz Ski Arena website.
Czarna Góra Resort in the Śnieżnik massif is a year-round resort with the Luxtorpeda chairlift to the summit, a floodlit FIS-homologated run and night skiing. Hotels and a spa stand by the slope, making it a good base for a few days.
Passes: for 2026/27 a 4-hour pass costs 140 zł standard and 130 zł reduced, and a two-day pass 310 and 270 zł. The online shop offers passes with discounts of up to 20 percent.
Zieleniec in the Orlické Mountains has more than 30 lifts on one pass, about 23 kilometres of runs and night skiing.
Passes: for 2026/27 a 4-hour pass costs 140 zł standard and 125 zł reduced in high season (19 December 2026 to 28 February 2027), and 125 and 115 zł in low season until 18 December. Reductions apply to children under 10 and over-65s, and children up to 5 ride the chairlifts free with an adult holding a pass. A 10 zł deposit is charged for the card.
Family stations such as Wierchomla or Soszów in Wisła work well, as do the gentler runs in Białka Tatrzańska. All of them have ski schools and equipment rental.
You will find long descents on Kasprowy Wierch, on Pilsko (about 3.4 km) and on Jaworzyna Krynicka (2.6 km). Zieleniec and Szczyrk Mountain Resort offer many kilometres of runs on one pass.
In Zieleniec and Czarna Góra, for example, a 4-hour pass costs 140 zł standard. In October 2026 some resorts still showed 2025/26 prices, such as Szrenica at 185 zł per day and Wierchomla at 137 zł per day.
Usually in December; at higher stations with good conditions, sometimes in late November. The opening date depends on frost and snowmaking.
From Kraków the closest options are Białka, Zakopane and the Sądecki Beskids; from Wrocław, the Karkonosze, Czarna Góra and Zieleniec. From Warsaw most people head to Podhale or Szczyrk.
After the season you will have photos and a lift pass in your jacket pocket. Turn the route of your trip into a "Your journey" poster and hang your winter on the wall.
