Sienna, Lower Silesian
Czarna Góra Resort (say "CHAR-nah GOO-rah", meaning "Black Mountain") is a year-round ski resort in the Śnieżnik Massif of Poland's Sudetes. It sits by the village of Sienna, on the slopes of Czarna Góra (1,205 m / 3,953 ft). Open since 1996, it is one of the best-known ski areas in the Kłodzko region. Highlights are the fast six-seat Luxtorpeda chairlift, a floodlit FIS run and plenty of on-site hotels and spa facilities.
The resort is just under 120 km (75 mi) from Wrocław, about a 2-hour drive. Take national road 8 to Kłodzko and then road 33 toward Boboszów. Coming from Katowice or Kraków, you can leave the A4 toward Nysa and cross briefly through Czechia (Javorník) to Lądek-Zdrój. There are about 1,400 parking spaces, and the main lot by the Efka lift costs PLN 20 per day. Local buses run from Stronie Śląskie, plus a ski bus in winter.
The resort lists 15 groomed runs plus 5 beginner meadows, about 14 km (9 mi) in total. The main lifts are:
The longest run is B-FIS (about 1.7 km) beside the Luxtorpeda, floodlit since 2016. The toughest is the black-red run A (about 1.6 km). Runs are groomed twice a day and have snowmaking.
Most runs are floodlit. According to the resort, night skiing runs daily in high season until 8 pm (Saturdays until 10 pm) and on Fridays and Saturdays in low season. Families get gentle practice meadows and a ski school, and intermediates will enjoy the long reds. The resort has an English-language info page, which helps first-time visitors.
As of October 2026, the resort's online shop is selling 2026/27 passes at up to 20% off. The opening date and full day-pass prices have not been announced yet, so check czarnagora.pl before you go. Prices are in Polish złoty (PLN).
Yes, especially for families and for a ski-and-spa break. The resort offers about 1,700 beds in its own hotels and apartments, plus pools and wellness. Black-run hunters may find a single day enough.
The Luxtorpeda also runs in summer and takes hikers, bikes and even dogs. From the top you can see Śnieżnik and, across the border, Praděd in Czechia. Summer attractions include a bike park, the 950 m Czarna Żmija alpine coaster and the new CzarnaLine rope park, opened on June 4, 2026. Nearby, visit the Bear Cave (Jaskinia Niedźwiedzia) in Kletno, hike up Śnieżnik or relax in the spa town of Lądek-Zdrój.
