Wierchomla Ski Station

Wierchomla Ski Station lies in Wierchomla Mała, in a side valley between Piwniczna-Zdrój and Muszyna, within Poprad Landscape Park. Its slopes run between 590 and 896 m above sea level, and its signature lift is a 1,600 m four-seat chairlift. With no black runs, a separate learning slope and a hotel at the bottom station, it is a good choice for a family ski trip in the Sądecki Beskids.

Lifts and runs

The station has been running since the 1997/1998 season and now has four lifts. Its heart is the Wierchomla I chairlift:

• Wierchomla I – a four-seat chair with a boarding conveyor, 1,600 m long with a 300 m vertical; the ride takes about 12 minutes. The run is 50–100 m wide and marked red in its lower part; halfway down there is a mountain hut with refreshments and toilets.
• Polanki – 940 m long with a 175 m vertical; a wide, gentle, floodlit slope popular with carvers.
• Toczek – 470 m long with a 100 m vertical, a red run.
• Stonoga – 110 m, a training slope separated from the other runs, floodlit and with snowmaking.

According to skiresort.com the station has about 4.2 km of runs in total: 1.8 km easy and 2.4 km intermediate, with a 306 m vertical.

Season, hours and passes

The operator opens the slopes when winter arrives and weather and snow cover allow. Skiresort.com lists the 2026/2027 season from 5 December 2026 to 14 March 2027, with hours of 9:00–17:00, noting that they may vary with conditions, weekdays and school holidays. The same site gives a day pass price of PLN 137 for adults and PLN 121 for children. The station sells hourly passes activated at the gate, a two-hour afternoon pass, 1–7-day and family passes; reductions apply to children under 12 and people over 60, and a PLN 10 deposit is charged for the card.

Who it suits

Wierchomla works best for beginners, families with children and recreational skiers. The separate Stonoga slope lets learners practise away from faster skiers, while Polanki gives room to polish your turns. Advanced skiers will find enough here for one or two days.
