Mountains & peaks
Bacówka PTTK named after Stanisław Nowak stands on a broad meadow at about 887 metres above sea level in the Beskid Sądecki, between Runek and Pusta Wielka. The terrace and meadow look towards the Radziejowa range and, in good weather, the Tatras.
The wooden building has a scenic veranda and a fireplace room. Its buffet serves warm home-style food and regional specialities. Next to the hut are a Finnish cottage and the JurtoStan yurt accommodation. Overnight guests can also use the sauna, drying room and a basic bicycle-repair point.
The shortest approach follows the black trail from Wierchomla Mała and takes about one hour; the route from the upper chairlift station takes about 25 minutes. From the Szczawnik valley, a forest road takes roughly 1.5 hours. If you plan to use the Wierchomla lift, check its seasonal operating dates first. A car can use the forest road only with permission from the Piwniczna Forest District, so most visitors should plan to arrive on foot or by bicycle and leave the car near the ski station or in the valley.
The hut welcomes visitors all year, but confirm buffet hours and bed availability before travelling. Overnight bookings are handled through the reservation tab; the operator provides phone and email support if online payment is a problem. Telephone contact is available from 8:00 to 20:00. Check the property’s website for current accommodation, prices and stay rules before setting out.
Wstęp do schroniska bez biletu; noclegi i posiłki są płatne, aktualne ceny sprawdź na stronie obiektu.
