Ski resorts
Duszniki-Zdrój, Lower Silesian
Zieleniec Sport Arena (say "zhyeh-LEH-nyets") is the largest ski resort in the Kłodzko Valley and one of the most popular in Poland. It sits at 800–960 m (2,600–3,150 ft) on the eastern slopes of the Orlické (Eagle) Mountains, right on the Czech border, and administratively belongs to the spa town of Duszniki-Zdrój. One shared lift pass covers more than 30 chairlifts and drag lifts and about 23 km (14 mi) of runs. A snow-friendly microclimate keeps the season long.
Zieleniec is in Lower Silesia, southwestern Poland. The resort says the drive from Wrocław takes about 2 hours on national road 8 via Kłodzko to Duszniki-Zdrój. From there, regional road 389 climbs about 8 km to the resort. Prague is also within reach, and a local ski taxi service offers transfers from Wrocław and Prague airports.
In winter, the town of Duszniki-Zdrój runs a ski bus from the town center and train station to the main lifts (PLN 5 per ride in 2025/26). Expect queues at the resort entrance on weekends and during Polish school holidays, so arrive early. The resort is split into several base areas – Mieszko, Winterpol, Diament and Nartorama – each with its own parking and ski bus stop, so choose your lodging close to the zone you plan to ski. A lift called Transit Masarykova links toward the Masarykova chata mountain hut on the Czech side.
Founded in 1719 as the German village of Grunwald, Zieleniec already had ski runs, a ski jump and a toboggan track in the early 20th century. Between the wars it had five mountain hostels. After 1945 the village became Polish. The first post-war ski course was held here in January 1946. Border-zone restrictions then froze development, so the first ski lift only arrived in 1960, and the big resort grew from the 1970s onward.
The 2026/27 lift pass price list names 7 chairlifts and 24 drag lifts and carpets. The flagships are two six-seat chairs, Nartorama Skyway Express and Winterpol Pomarańczowa, plus five four-seaters. About 16 km (10 mi) of runs are floodlit, so part of the resort stays open until 8 pm.
Zieleniec is known for its almost alpine microclimate. According to the resort, heavy precipitation keeps snow on the ground for close to 150 days a year, and skiing often lasts until Easter. Runs are mostly wide and moderate – great for families and intermediates – while experts may find the vertical limited. Cross-country skiers can join an extensive network of trails across the Czech border.
As of October 2026, the 2026/27 price list has been published (prices in Polish złoty, PLN):
Reduced fares apply to children under 10, seniors over 65 and people with disabilities. Children under 5 ride chairlifts free with a paying adult, and there is a PLN 10 card deposit. Until October 31, 2026, the second online pre-sale offers 15–25% off. The slopes are closed to everyone between 8 pm and 8 am for grooming.
Yes, if you want reliable snow, many lifts on one pass and a relaxed family atmosphere at Polish prices. Ski schools and rental shops are plentiful, including T&T at the Winterpol base. According to the resort, skiers come not only from all over Poland but also from Czechia and Germany, and online pass sales make buying tickets easy without speaking Polish.
In summer the Family Bike Park (11 km of trails, 2 lifts), disc golf and hiking take over. Hike to Orlica (1,084 m) and its lookout tower, or visit the Torfowisko pod Zieleńcem peat-bog reserve. St. Anne's Church (1902) in Zieleniec is the highest-situated church in the Sudetes. Down in Duszniki-Zdrój you will find a historic paper mill museum.
