Park of Illuminations at Zamek Topacz

On the grounds of Zamek Topacz in Ślęza, right at the edge of Wrocław, operates the Park of Illuminations — a 1.5 km trail lit by more than 500,000 points of light and over 20 kilometres of light chains, all based on energy-saving LED diodes. The park opened in 2020, and just a year later it was significantly enlarged.

The route runs around a pond, mostly on cobblestones; on weekends it is one-way, since there are plenty of visitors. The guiding theme is a journey around the world — successive installations transport you to distant corners of the globe and fairy-tale scenes, and a full loop with longer stops takes about an hour and a half. After rain solid shoes come in handy, as some sections turn muddy.

Zamek Topacz

The residence itself has its own long history: the manor in Ślęza, known in German sources as Schloss Lohe, arose in the 14th and 15th centuries with a Gothic residential tower. It was rebuilt in 1618, and in 1857–1889 a Baroque northern wing was added, dismantled after 1974. Today the manor complex at Główna 12 welcomes guests, and in winter and evening hours it is the Park of Illuminations that draws crowds from Wrocław.

Practical information

The park is open daily from sunset until 21:00. From Monday to Thursday tickets cost PLN 26 standard and PLN 23 reduced; on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays PLN 29 and PLN 26; the family ticket is PLN 89–99, and children under 2 enter for PLN 1. Tickets can be bought on site or online. A free car park awaits in front of the site, and the trail can be walked with a stroller or a dog on a leash.
