Depot History Centre in Wrocław

Why visit

The Depot History Centre occupies a historic depot at 184 Grabiszyńska Street in Wrocław. The museum explains the city’s post-war story: changed borders, new arrivals, reconstruction and the rise of Solidarity. The exhibition combines multimedia, photographs, recordings and original objects.

“Wrocław 1945–2016” exhibition

The main exhibition follows the city’s history from the end of the Second World War to the present. It tells how Wrocław was rebuilt by people from different parts of Poland and the former eastern borderlands. Displays include everyday objects, documents, photographs, a RUCH kiosk and vehicles. It also covers the August 1980 strike and Wrocław’s Solidarity history.

Families and groups

The centre runs museum lessons, guided visits and workshops for children, teenagers and adult groups. Groups should contact the centre in advance. Individual visitors enter with a ticket, while children under 12 should visit with an adult. The exhibition has ramps and lifts; visitors needing support should report it before their visit.

Hours, tickets and access

The exhibition is open Tuesday–Wednesday 9:00 am–5:00 pm, Thursday 10:00 am–5:00 pm and Friday–Sunday 10:00 am–6:00 pm; it is closed on Mondays. Last entry is one hour before closing. Tickets cost PLN 20 regular, PLN 10 reduced, PLN 55 family and PLN 80 group; guided tours cost extra. Address: 184 Grabiszyńska Street. Parking may be temporarily unavailable because of the “Green Depot” construction, so check the operator’s notices.
