Kolejkowo Wrocław

Kolejkowo in Wrocław (roughly koh-ley-KOH-voh, from the Polish word for model railway) is one of Poland's largest model railway layouts: a miniature Wrocław and Lower Silesia built at 1:25 scale, with moving trains, cars and thousands of tiny figures. It sits on the first floor of the Sky Tower mall and is one of the most popular things to do in Wrocław with kids, especially on a rainy day. Adults tend to love it too, mostly for the hidden jokes in the details.

From an old station to Sky Tower

Kolejkowo first opened on January 26, 2015, in Wrocław's historic Świebodzki railway station, with about 500 m² of display space. On July 30, 2021, it moved to Sky Tower, the city's tallest building, gaining much more room plus a café, shop and toddler play corner. According to the operator, more than 1.5 million people visited in its first ten years.

What you will see

Today the layout covers about 1,000 m²:

• 720 m of track and 19 trains with 60 cars,
• 215 road vehicles and 347 buildings,
• more than 6,300 figures of people and animals.

Look for Wrocław landmarks such as the Renoma department store and the Puppet Theater, plus the Karkonosze (Giant Mountains) on the Czech border. Hunt for small stories: a fire brigade fighting a tenement fire, building sites, backyards and balconies.

Day, night and a thunderstorm

The miniature runs on its own clock: 9 minutes of day, then 4 minutes of night, when hundreds of street lamps and windows light up. Every so often a storm rolls over the layout with lightning and real rain. Watch the same section in both phases; the lighting reveals completely different details.

How long to stay and is it worth visiting?

Most visitors spend 1.5–2 hours, and there is no time limit beyond opening hours. There are steps for small children along the layout, the venue is stroller- and wheelchair-accessible, and there is a free cloakroom and restrooms. Photography is allowed; pets are not. Captions are in Polish, but the miniatures speak for themselves.

As of October 2026:

• Hours: Monday–Friday 10:00 am–6:00 pm, Saturday–Sunday 10:00 am–7:00 pm, open every day of the year.
• Tickets: adults from 39 PLN online or from 55 PLN at the desk; reduced from 33 PLN online; children under 3 free. Booking online is cheaper and skips the ticket line.

Sky Tower is at ul. Powstańców Śląskich 95, about 2 km south of the Old Town. Trams 2, 6, 7 and 17 stop at Wielka, right outside; tram 2 runs directly from Wrocław Główny station. There is a paid underground garage.
