Terma Bania Thermal Baths

Terma Bania in Białka Tatrzańska (roughly "BYAW-kah tah-TZHAN-skah") is one of the busiest thermal water parks in the Polish Tatra foothills. It sits at the foot of the Kotelnica Białczańska ski slopes and offers 15 pools, more than 300 m (1,000 ft) of waterslides, a quieter relaxation zone with views of the High Tatras and a large sauna area. It is a favorite after a day of skiing and a reliable rainy-day option in summer.

Where it is

Białka Tatrzańska is a village in southern Poland, about 21 km (13 miles) from Zakopane and roughly 90 km (56 miles) south of Kraków. It is one of Poland's best-known ski areas, so in winter the baths fill up in the late afternoon when the slopes close.

The pools are fed by mineral water pumped from 2,500 m (8,200 ft) underground. It comes out at about 78°C (172°F) and is cooled to 34–38°C (93–100°F) for bathing. The building mixes modern glass with stone, timber and local highlander details.

Things to do at Terma Bania

The complex has three separate zones, and you choose which ones your ticket covers:

• Fun Zone (Strefa Zabawy): indoor and outdoor pools with geysers, water cannons, a wave pool, hot tubs and year-round slides. The whole complex has 2,400 m² of water surface.
• Relaxation Zone (Strefa Relaksu): calmer pools facing the mountains.
• Saunarium: more than 1,000 m² of saunas, a cold plunge pool, a brine graduation tower and a hot tub. It is 16+, and nudity is normal in the saunas, as in Germany or Austria.

A summer-only zone adds a splash park and an inflatable water playground.

Tickets and opening hours (as of October 2026)

• Open daily 9 am–10 pm.
• Walk-up prices (valid until December 17, 2026): a 2.5-hour Fun Zone ticket costs PLN 89 Monday–Thursday and PLN 99 Friday–Sunday; kids under 13 pay PLN 69/79. The all-zones OPEN ticket for 3.5 hours is PLN 139/149.
• Buying online in advance is cheaper. Afternoon tickets (entry after 4 pm) start at PLN 57 online.
• Kids up to 104 cm (3 ft 5 in) tall get in for PLN 1.
• Winter 2026/27: holiday and ski-season prices had not been published at the time of writing. A New Year's Eve party is planned for December 31, 2026.

How to get there

By car from Kraków, take the main road toward Zakopane and turn off in Nowy Targ toward Bukowina Tatrzańska, which avoids the most congested stretch. Parking is at two lots by the Kotelnica ski area turnoff; the upper one is paid under the ski resort's rates. Without a car, take a Szos-Mig minibus from Zakopane bus station to the Białka Tatrzańska Szkoła stop.

Is it worth visiting?

Yes, especially with kids or after skiing. Plan 3–4 hours. Families get baby-changing stations in three places, a separate water circuit for toddler pools and bottle warming at the snack bars. Nearby, the wooden church of Saints Simon and Jude is worth a quick look, and the Morskie Oko trailhead at Palenica Białczańska is about 18 km away.
