Mountains & peaks
In Białka Tatrzańska, on national road 49 at the foot of the Tatras, runs the Bania Ski Resort — a compact ski centre linked by a slope to the neighbouring Kotelnica Białczańska. Four lifts, including a four-seater chairlift, serve slopes groomed daily by snowcats.
Three lifts are designed for children and beginners, so first steps on skis come without stress. All runs are floodlit and fitted with sound systems, and instructors of the ski and snowboard school look after the youngest. You can rest from skiing on the snowtubing track or the winter carousel.
The greatest asset is the shared card system: the same pass works at Bania, Kotelnica and Kaniówka, and from Bania you can ski straight down to the neighbouring resort some 50 m away, combining different slope variants without any driving. The village lies on the Białka river, in the Bukowina Tatrzańska commune, Tatra county.
Next to the lifts there is a rental and service shop, a highland inn and a free car park. After skiing, the thermal baths in the same Bania complex are close at hand. Current passes, hours and the snow report are available at hotelbania.pl.
