Nietoperzowa Cave

Nietoperzowa Cave, also known as Jerzmanowicka or Biała Cave, lies in the Będkowska Valley on the Kraków–Częstochowa Jura. It is a large, horizontally developed cave in Upper Jurassic limestone, known for spacious chambers, formations and traces of bats. The entrance is on Nietoperzowa Street in Jerzmanowice, on private land.

Underground spaces and history

Inside you can see broad passages, swirl potholes and surviving sections of flowstone. The cave sediments produced important archaeological and palaeontological finds; bat guano was also collected here for centuries. Its name recalls the colonies of bats that remain an important part of the site’s natural character.

Guided visits

The cave is open to tourists only with a guide. It operates seasonally, usually from spring to autumn; winter visits for organised groups require advance contact. Confirm hours, prices, availability and entry rules with the operator before travelling. Do not enter closed passages or touch the formations.

Combining the visit

The cave is in Jerzmanowice-Przeginia municipality, surrounded by limestone crags and trails in the Będkowska Valley. Combine it with a Jura outing, allowing time for the journey, approach and guided visit. Wear firm footwear and check the rules for the private site before setting out.
