Czupel

Czupel in the Silesian Beskids is a forested mountain rising to 882 m above Wisła Nowa Osada and Malinka, in the Równica Range. It is a good choice for a quiet mountain walk or as part of a longer route around Wisła. Do not confuse it with Czupel in the Little Beskids, which reaches 934 m.

Location and character

Czupel lies within the town of Wisła in the Silesian Beskids. Most of its slopes are forested, so the appeal lies mainly in the walk, the Beskid landscape and the option to link the summit with neighbouring ridges. From Czupel, the trail can continue towards Smerekowiec and on towards Trzy Kopce Wiślańskie.

Trails over Czupel

The green trail runs from Wisła Nowa Osada through Czupel to Smerekowiec. According to PTTK Wisła, this section is 4.8 km and takes about 1 hour 55 minutes. A blue trail also passes Czupel on the way from Wisła Uzdrowisko to the Soszów mountain hut; the full route to the hut is 7.5 km and takes about 2 hours 15 minutes.

Practical tips

Check the current trail markings, weather and forest-path conditions before setting out. Some sections may be rocky or muddy, and mobile reception can be limited. Treat Czupel as part of a Beskid hike rather than a standalone attraction with extensive facilities.
