Waterfall in Wisła

In Wisła Czarne, on the right side of the road leading towards Lake Czerniańskie, the Biała Wisełka stream falls over a tall ledge: this is an 8-metre waterfall, one of the best-known objects of its kind in the Silesian Beskids. It was artificially built in the 1950s, but the surrounding greenery makes the scene look completely natural.

Fish passes and the nature reserve

Opposite the waterfall you can see fish passes, a system of small water steps that enable fish to migrate up the river. The waterfall and the surrounding area belong to the Wisła Nature Reserve, which additionally protects this fragment of the Biała Wisełka valley. The source stream of the Vistula flows here through a wooded valley that attracts walkers in summer and looks like a postcard in winter.

From the waterfall, heading into the greenery, you will reach the stylish Drewutnia inn, a good place for a break. Further on, the path leads towards the Presidential Castle and the Biała Wisełka Valley, which opens the way to Barania Góra, called the queen of the Silesian Beskids. The waterfall lies on Czarna Street; entry is free, the site is accessible all year round and around the clock, and a free car park is located on the other side of the road.
