Lakes
Kamień Lagoon lies near Kamień Pomorski, in the landscape of the Dziwna waterway and Poland’s western coast. One important correction: an earlier version of this card confused it with a reservoir on the Nysa Szalona. The name and coordinates point to the lagoon by Kamień Pomorski, not to a mountain reservoir near Boguszów-Gorce.
Treat the lagoon as part of a longer walk or cycle ride. Local routes cross a landscape of water, reed beds and open coastal lowlands. A useful viewpoint is the area around the Royal Boulder, from where the lagoon, Dziwnów, Dziwnówek and Międzywodzie can be seen.
The lagoon and the Dziwna are protected within a Natura 2000 area. This is a place for broad horizons, changing light and quiet contact with the water rather than a compact, ticketed attraction. In cloudy weather the lagoon becomes a wide, austere coastal landscape; in clear conditions the view opens towards the surrounding shore.
The area is open, but check specific routes, access points and conditions before setting out. This card does not confirm a regular bathing area or beach infrastructure. Bring water, sun protection and binoculars if you want to watch birds.
Tripto tip: do not stop for only five minutes at the shore. Combine the lagoon with a route and look for a viewpoint where the water opens into a wide panorama — that is when its connection with the Dziwna landscape becomes clear.
