Multimedia Museum in Trzęsacz

In the centre of Trzęsacz, on the promenade leading to the ruins of the Gothic church on the cliff, stands a modest-looking building housing the Multimedia Museum in Trzęsacz. After the refurbishment completed in 2014, it is the most technologically advanced museum on the Polish coast: the story of the village told through projections and interactive stations.

On the 15th meridian

Trzęsacz lies on the Rewal Coast, exactly on the 15th meridian — the meridian used to set Central European Time. The museum's former name, the Museum of the History of Trzęsacz on the 15th Meridian, referred to this fact. Today the museum bears the name of Władysław Jagiełło — a namesake of the king and a devoted friend of Trzęsacz, who came up with the idea for the institution and founded it.

The church, the sea and Zielenica

The exhibition revolves around three threads. The first is the history of the Gothic church, whose successive parts were claimed by the retreating cliff. The second is the residents' long struggle against the sea. The third thread is a fairy tale: the story of Zielenica, a local legend retold with multimedia. This form of presentation appeals to children and adults alike.

Practicalities

The museum is at 3B Klifowa Street. In high season (1 July–25 August) it is open daily 10.00–19.00, in September 9.00–17.00, and in winter (October–April) Tue–Thu 10.00–15.00, Fri–Sun 10.00–16.00. Tickets: regular PLN 18.90, reduced PLN 15.90. The interior is accessible for prams, and the 15th Meridian restaurant sits next door. Combine your visit with a walk along the promenade to the church ruins, the symbol of Trzęsacz.
