Promenade in Dziwnów

In Dziwnów the promenade runs along the beach, and its older section enters the forest. The biggest draw, however, is the newest stretch: the Western Promenade follows the crest of a dune among low coastal vegetation, so nothing blocks the views — sea and greenery remain on both sides.

History of the seaside walkway

The origins of the promenade go back to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, when brine springs were discovered here and tourism visibly picked up. In the 1930s the walking route expanded again, but further development was cut short by the war. After years of neglect the walkway was revitalised in 2014–2018 — since then it has regained its form, and the newest dune-top section has become its most distinctive part.

Walking, cycling and beach access

The route works in two ways: as a stroll and as a cycling path. Successive beach entrances let you step onto the sand at any moment, and benches along the route invite rest with a view. The surface is comfortable enough that the promenade also suits pushchairs.

In practice

Access is free, around the clock and all year round. The route is lit in the evenings and toilets are available on site. The promenade lies at Promenada Street in Dziwnów, and nearby (within 20 km) you will find the Kamieński Lagoon, the cathedral in Kamień Pomorski and the ruins of the church in Trzęsacz.
