Uniejów Thermal Baths

Termy Uniejów (Uniejów Thermal Baths; say "oo-NYEH-yoof") is a year-round thermal pool complex on the Warta River in the small town of Uniejów, in central Poland. In 2012 Uniejów was granted official spa-resort status thanks to its geothermal water, which is pumped from three wells more than 2 km deep at about 68°C. The complex combines indoor and outdoor pools, slides, a sauna area and kids' zones, and outdoor soaking in hot brine on a frosty day is the big draw.

Where it is and how to get there

Uniejów lies in the Łódź region, roughly an hour's drive northwest of Łódź and not far from the A2 motorway between Warsaw and Poznań. Public transport is limited to regional buses, so a car is the easiest option. The complex is at Zamkowa 3/5, next to the town's castle.

History and the water

The first baths opened in 2008; a new, much larger complex with indoor and outdoor pools followed on May 26, 2012, with further expansions in 2019 and a new summer zone more recently. The water has low mineralization (about 7 g/l). The operator promotes it as supportive for rheumatic, orthopedic and ENT conditions; check with your doctor if you have health concerns.

What's inside

• Indoor: a pirate-ship pool for kids, a brine spa pool and a brine graduation tower.
• Outdoor: a large brine pool (216 m²), a 25 m lap pool, a lazy river, a jacuzzi island, a swim-up bar, slides and the 700 m² "Banana" leisure pool.
• Saunas: a Russian-style banya, Turkish and aroma steam baths, an infrared cabin, an ice pool and a snow chamber down to –13°C.
• Summer zone (seasonal): four new water slides, a flume ride, electric boats and a mini-jeep driving school for kids aged 4–11.

Opening hours (as of October 2026)

• Open daily 10 am – 10 pm (pools from 9 am in July and August).
• Saunas: weekdays 4 pm – 10 pm; weekends and holidays during full opening hours.
• Autumn–winter 2026/27: since September 29, 2026, the children's castle splash area and the Banana pool are closed; the other pools, including the outdoor thermal pools, stay open.

Prices depend on the day, time and length of stay:

• Weekdays before 4 pm: 1 hr 30 PLN, 3 hrs 70 PLN.
• Weekdays after 4 pm: 1 hr 40 PLN, 3 hrs 85 PLN.
• Weekends and holidays: 1 hr 48 PLN, 3 hrs 109 PLN; family ticket (2+2) for 3 hrs 325 PLN.
• Children under 7 go free. The sauna supplement is 22–34 PLN; overstaying costs 1 PLN per minute.

Tips

• Bring your own towel (rentals only in the sauna zone) and a hat for winter dips outdoors.
• Leaving the complex ends your visit; there are no re-entry day passes.
• Expect a short wait (around 15 minutes) at the entrance on weekends; buy tickets online.
• Is it worth visiting? Yes, especially in winter, when steaming outdoor pools feel most special.

Nearby

A short walk away is Uniejów's 14th-century Gothic castle of the archbishops of Gniezno, now a hotel, set in a park by the Warta, as well as the 14th-century collegiate church.
