Władysławowo Bird House

The Bird House (Ptaszarnia) in the port of Władysławowo is the opposite of a typical parrot house. In a large covered tent at Hryniewieckiego 1, among tropical greenery, live more than a hundred small exotic birds – they do not land on your shoulder or beg for food, but build nests, bathe in a small pond and sing. To see them, you need to slow down and look around.

Who lives here

The birds come from Asia, Africa and Australia, and many are only a dozen or so centimetres long. Walking among the trees and shrubs you can spot colourful finches (including the Gouldian finch), zebra finches, singing red-billed leiothrix ("Pekin robins"), busy weavers and cordon-bleus. The birds fly freely, without cages or glass, and the space has been arranged to resemble their natural habitat, with hiding places in dense foliage. After the summer holidays, when it gets cooler, they all move back to year-round winter aviaries.

How to visit

Guides are present inside the whole time and, included in the ticket, help you spot nests, explain bird behaviour and share interesting facts. There is no time limit – most visitors spend 30–45 minutes, but you can sit on a bench and listen to the birdsong for longer. A few rules apply: no feeding, no touching, no flash photography, and food must be finished before you go in. Dogs are not allowed, not even carried. It is jungle-warm inside, so dress in layers.

Practical information

The Bird House is seasonal, open in summer from the second half of June to 20 September, daily 10:00–18:00 (as of the 2026 season). A standard ticket costs PLN 28, a reduced ticket for children and young people under 18 PLN 24, and children under 3 go free; family and group tickets are also available. Only organised groups need to book. You can pay by cash, card or BLIK. The site is accessible to visitors with disabilities and families with pushchairs; toilets are available in the port area.

Tripto tip

The Bird House stands door to door with the Butterfly House – they are two separate exhibitions with separate tickets, but together they make a good nature afternoon, even on a rainy day. Walk here from beach entrance no. 1, heading towards the port buildings. Drivers are best off using the paid car parks on Hryniewieckiego Street or around that beach entrance.
