Butterfly House Władysławowo

The Butterfly House in the port of Władysławowo is, according to its operators, the largest butterfly house in Poland. It sits in a white round tent at ul. Hryniewieckiego 2, next to an aviary in a tent of similar shape, a few hundred metres from the beach. Inside, among tropical greenery, butterflies and moths from Africa, Asia and other corners of the world fly freely, without terraria or display cases — they may cross the path right in front of your face.

What you will see

Dozens of species live here, including specimens with a wingspan of almost 30 centimetres. The insects live in conditions that mirror their natural environment, so tropical plants flourish alongside them. Guides included in the ticket talk about the butterflies' life cycle, habits and abilities; educational sessions are prepared for school groups, and anyone can book a professional photo session.

Practical information

The Butterfly House operates in summer, from June to the end of August, daily from 10:00 to 20:00. You reach it via ul. Hryniewieckiego, where paid parking-meter spots await; from the centre of Władysławowo and the beach you can walk. Current ticket prices are best checked on the venue's website before your visit.

The port and the neighbourhood

The visit slots easily into a day by the sea: the beach entrance lies about half a kilometre away, and the Ocean Park and the aviary operate nearby in the port. Further points of the programme include a walk along the fishing-harbour quays, a fresh fish stall by the pier and the sweeping view from the observation deck of the fishermen's house above the bay.
