Lampa Aladyna Garden of Lights in Chorzów

Lampa Aladyna is a winter garden of lights laid out on the grounds of Legendia — the Silesian Amusement Park in Silesian Park in Chorzów, the oldest lunapark in Poland: it has operated since 12 September 1959 and has used its current name since 2017. The exhibition takes its theme from the tales of the Thousand and One Nights — oriental lanterns, clay pots and installations with figures of Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie.

The route around the pond

The route runs in one direction around the pond, along the same loop as in summer. On the walk you will see dozens of installations, including light tunnels — one of them guarded by the sultan's guards — and the climax comes with laser shows set to music, best watched between the Venetian carousel and the Ferris wheel. Some of the park's rides operate during the garden's opening hours: among them the Legendia Flower Ferris wheel, 40 metres tall, standing here since 1985.

Season and tickets

The 2021/2022 edition ran from 5 November 2021 to 27 February 2022, daily 4–9 pm (from 5 pm in February). In that edition tickets from Monday to Thursday cost PLN 34 (reduced PLN 29) and from Friday to Sunday PLN 39 (reduced PLN 34); children under three entered for PLN 1. The exhibition is organised by CD Lighting, the company also behind the light gardens in Kraków.

In practice

The entrance is at Plac Atrakcji 1 in Chorzów, and the route follows an asphalt path suitable for prams. Along the way there is a fire to warm up by and several food points; the car park by the park is paid, although on weekdays it is easier to find a space in the free car park by the main road.
