Silesia Rope Park in Chorzów

On the hardest route of the Silesia Rope Park, the obstacles hang as high as 10.5 m above the ground, and the course is considered one of the most demanding in Poland. The park lies within the Silesian Park in Chorzów, at ul. Dojazdowa 1 on the border with Katowice, a few hundred metres from Legendia and the "Elka" cable car. It makes for a few active hours among the trees, including for families with children.

Three routes, three levels of difficulty

The park consists of 46 obstacles, 39 platforms and 8 zip lines, adding up to around 710 m of routes at three levels of difficulty. The hardest route has 17 obstacles between 15 platforms at heights of 6.5 to 10.5 m. The medium route has 14 obstacles suspended 6–9 m above the ground. The easiest, called "Maluch" (Little One), runs 2.5–3 m up through 12 obstacles and is meant for people over 130 cm tall.

Mini Rope Park for the youngest

For children aged 3–12 there is a separate Mini Rope Park with 11 little houses and a 90-metre route with 12 obstacles. Older siblings and adults can head for the higher routes while the little ones practise their balance close to the ground. Both parts are next to each other, so it is easy to keep an eye on everyone.

The park is seasonal, usually open from June to October. Current opening hours and prices could not be confirmed from an official source, so call +48 509 343 441 before you go to make sure the park is open. Allow about two hours to complete two routes. The easiest way to get there is by tram, or leave your car in one of the Silesian Park car parks and combine the climbing with a ride on the "Elka", a visit to the Silesian Zoo or a walk in the Japanese Garden. Wear sports shoes and clothes that can get dirty, and tie back long hair.
