The Robot Factory in Moszna

A few minutes’ walk from Moszna Castle, at Zamkowa 2, stands Sebastian Kucharski’s Robot Factory. It is a private museum of scrap sculpture where car parts and other metal elements become large, hand-built robots. It is a distinctive museum in the Opole region.

Robots inspired by films

The exhibition presents steel constructions in different sizes and with different characters. Some robots move or speak, while their inspirations include Transformers, Star Wars, Alien and other science-fiction films. Information beside the exhibits explains the idea, the reused elements and the maker’s work, so the visit shows both the finished sculpture and how it was created.

Recycling as art

The main strength of the Robot Factory is its use of materials. Scrap that might otherwise be processed is given a second life as a character with its own form and story. Details invite closer inspection: visitors can recognise parts of old vehicles and machines in the constructions. It is a good place to show children how recycling can connect with imagination and hands-on work.

Opening hours are seasonal: at weekends and on public holidays the museum usually welcomes visitors without reservations, while individual weekday visits generally require a phone booking.
