Ecological Education Centre in Góra Siewierska

The Ecological Education Centre in Góra Siewierska is a fenced park in Psary municipality (Będzin County), opened in April 2022. Its 1.7 ha hold a 15-metre viewing tower, a trail of boards on climate protection, several themed gardens and two playgrounds. It makes a good family afternoon out or a stop on a cycling trip around the Zagłębie region.

What to see

• Viewing tower – 15 metres high, with a panorama of the Dąbrowa Basin (Zagłębie Dąbrowskie) from the platform.
• Educational trail – 23 boards on low-level CO2 emissions. One of them works with a mobile app that shows 6 3D house models in augmented reality.
• Three gardens and an apiary – geological, meteorological and medicinal-plant gardens plus an artificial apiary with hives.
• Children's zones – a playground with a zip line, a five-senses experiment area (whooshing pipes, Tibetan gongs, lithophones, tubular bells, a 'telephone' tube) and a separate weather-themed playground for toddlers.
• Amphitheatre and sensory paths – space for outdoor lessons and local events.

Did you know

The park is not a classic botanical garden: most stations are designed for experimenting – listening, touching and comparing. The boards explain where low-level emissions come from and how to cut them at home, so the walk doubles as a practical lesson for everyday life. The grounds are lit, fenced and monitored, and the gates are locked at night.

Tripto tips

The centre is on ul. Złota in Góra Siewierska and is run by the Psary Municipal Cultural Centre (GOK). The Silesian tourism portal lists it as open all year but gives no fixed hours – since the gates are locked at night, come in daylight. Visitors with limited mobility can reach the top of the tower with a stair climber after contacting the GOK in advance (tel. 32 267 22 59). Allow 1–2 hours for the tower, the trail and play time, ideally on a dry day, as most attractions are outdoors.
