Przeczycki Reservoir

The Przeczycki Reservoir, also known as Przeczyce or the Przeczycko-Siewierski Reservoir, was created in 1963 by damming the Czarna Przemsza. It lies in the Siewierz and Mierzęcice municipalities, near Przeczyce and Sarnów. The reservoir serves retention and recreation, attracting anglers and visitors looking for water close to the Zagłębie and Jura regions.

The reservoir landscape

The dam created a broad water body where the Czarna Przemsza cuts through the Middle Triassic Threshold. Woods, meadows and bays line the shore, and fish such as pike, bream and tench occur in the water. This is not one urban beach with complete facilities; the character of the shoreline changes from place to place.

Fishing and recreation

Fishing is the most certain activity, but check the water manager, permits and rules first. You can also plan a walk, photography, kayaking or a stay at a local resort. If swimming matters to you, use only a currently designated bathing area and check the GIS bathing service.

Planning a visit

Choose a specific access point because the shoreline is spread across several villages. Check parking, water access, road conditions and current rules before travelling. Popular places can be busy at weekends, and wind can change quickly on the open water.
