Beskyd

Beskid is a 2,012 m summit on the main ridge of the Tatra Mountains, between Sucha Przełęcz and Liliowe Pass. The Polish–Slovak border follows the ridge, while the Polish slopes descend towards the Gąsienicowa Valley. It is a scenic summit in the Kasprowy Wierch area.

Why visit

Beskid offers a high-mountain landscape without requiring the longer route to Świnica. From the ridge, you can look towards the Gąsienicowa Valley, Świnica and surrounding Tatra peaks. It works well as a viewpoint in its own right on a popular ridge trail.

How to get there

The shortest approach follows the red-marked trail from the upper cable-car station area at Kasprowy Wierch. The path descends through Sucha Przełęcz and then climbs gently to Beskid; the red trail continues over Liliowe Pass towards Świnicka Przełęcz and Świnica. Another option is to reach Liliowe Pass from Hala Gąsienicowa and join the ridge from the east. Check the Tatra National Park map before setting out, as trail conditions and restrictions can change.

Practical information

Beskid is not a separate visitor facility with a ticket office, staff or opening hours: it is a natural summit inside Tatra National Park. There is no café or shelter on the ridge, so bring water, an extra layer and a charged phone with the TOPR emergency number. Weather above the tree line can change quickly; fog, wind and ice can make a short-looking route demanding. Before hiking, check TPN’s notice, trail closures, forecast and, in winter, avalanche conditions. Stay on marked trails and choose the route for the conditions on the day.
