Beach in Międzyzdroje

Międzyzdroje lie on the island of Wolin, on the Bay of Pomerania, and to the east and south the town borders the Wolin National Park — so the beach is framed by forest and moraine hills. Widened in recent years, broad and covered in light, soft sand, it is counted among the best bathing beaches on the Polish coast.

By the pier and by the harbour

The biggest crowds gather by the pier — a reinforced-concrete structure 395 metres long, completed at the end of 2004, with a berth for coastal shipping at its end. A calmer stretch runs by the harbour: the pier on one side, a high bank towards Kawcza Góra on the other, and fishing boats entering the port in the morning. The further you walk towards Kawcza Góra, the fewer people and the more space.

Summer: the festival and the sunsets

In July the town hosts the Festival of Stars, an annual summer entertainment event that draws large audiences. In the evenings the beach turns into a grandstand: sunsets over the open sea are the town's best-known spectacle, and visitors come out to watch even on a cloudy day.

Practical

The main beach entrances lie by the Mikołaj Kopernik promenade, and Molo street leads straight onto the seaside boardwalk. The beaches are accessible around the clock all year, with a guarded swimming area operating in season.
