Walk of Fame in Międzyzdroje

The Walk of Fame in Międzyzdroje, also known as the Promenade of Stars, is an outdoor gallery of Polish artists’ handprints. It lies in the resort centre, by the seaside promenade and close to a beach entrance. Designed by Prof. Adam Myjak, it is linked to the Festival of Stars, held in Międzyzdroje since 1996.

What to see

More than 200 bronze handprints and autographs commemorate people from Polish film, theatre and music. Early names include Beata Tyszkiewicz, Daniel Olbrychski, Janusz Gajos, Krystyna Janda and Bogusław Linda. The alley also contains symbolic sculptures and monuments, including Krzysztof Kolberger’s table and a life-size bronze figure of Jan Machulski as Henryk Kwinta from the film “Vabank”.

History and the Festival of Stars

The first Summer Festival of Stars took place in Międzyzdroje in July 1996. The handprints were intended to leave a lasting trace and create a meeting place for artists and the public. The alley has been modernised and its collection can continue to grow. Festival events usually take place in early July; check the programme and dates before travelling.

Practical information

The alley is part of a public promenade, so entry is free and there are no separate visiting hours. Allow about 20–30 minutes for an unhurried walk among the plaques. Combine it with the pier, beach and Promenade of Stars; expect crowds in high season. The tourist information office is at Promenada Gwiazd 2.
