Mountains & peaks
On the north-eastern slope of Wielki Stożek (978 m above sea level) in the Silesian Beskids, in the Łabajów district of Wisła, runs the Stożek Ski Centre. It is a pick for skiers who prefer quieter slopes than the big resorts — and for cyclists, because the chairlift carries visitors all year round.
The heart of the centre is a two-seater chairlift and varied runs: gentler for beginners, steeper for the advanced. Snowboarders use a free snowpark with rails and jumps. From the slope stretches a panorama of the Silesian Beskids, and in exceptionally clear air you can spot the Tatras in the distance.
When the snow melts, the lift serves mountain bikers — the difficult downhill MTB trail is one of the centre's main summer draws. It is a rare example in the Silesian Beskids of a chairlift operating in the summer season too.
The centre is at 11 Zjazdowa Street in Wisła; current hours and prices are published at stozekwisla.pl. After your ride, Wisła's base of accommodation, restaurants and Silesian Beskids trails awaits.
