Malinów

Malinów is a scenic hill in the Silesian Beskids, about 1,114 m above sea level. It lies on the ridge between Salmopol Pass and Malinowska Rock, in the Barania Góra range. It works well as a short mountain goal with views, but can also form part of a longer walk towards Malinowska Rock, Skrzyczne or Barania Góra.

How to get there

The most natural approach follows the red trail from Salmopol Pass, also known as Biały Krzyż, towards Malinowska Rock. The ridge trail passes over Malinów on the way. From Malinowska Rock, you can continue on the green trail towards Barania Góra or plan a route connected with Skrzyczne. Check a current map and trail conditions before setting out: this is mountain terrain, not a flat walk.

What to see

Malinów belongs to a ridge known for rock outcrops and the Malinowskie conglomerates, geological formations created from sediments of an ancient sea. In clear weather, the views include the Silesian Beskids, the Wisła area, Skrzyczne, Klimczok, the Little Beskids and the Żywiec Beskids. Caves are also found nearby, including Malinowska Cave; check access and conditions separately, as it is not a casual stop for unprepared visitors.

Practical information

Malinów is a natural summit with no ticket office, admission fee or opening hours. There are no permanent facilities on the ridge, so bring water, an extra layer and a charged phone. Rain can make the ground slippery and fog can reduce visibility. Stay on marked trails, do not enter caves without proper preparation, and check weather and closure notices before hiking.
