Blue Springs in the Załęczański Landscape Park

The Blue Springs lie between Troniny and Stara Wieś in the Załęczański Landscape Park. They are karst springs by the Jarzębski Meander of the Warta: some water emerges from a fissure, while some rises from an oxbow lake. Clear water can take on a blue colour. The springs are a natural monument and a short-walk destination in the Warta valley.

How the blue water appears

The springs feed a pool that is a former Warta channel. Water passes through limestone, creating a karst upwelling. From the bank, you can see emergence from the rock and beneath the pool’s surface. An information board explains the phenomenon. Colour changes with light, clarity and depth.

Jarzębski Meander and the trail

The springs can be reached via the red Wieluń Upland Trail. From the road between Stara Wieś and Troniny, turn onto the path leading to the concrete clearing by the water. The walk passes riverside vegetation and a bend of the Warta, and can be extended to other places in the Załęczański Landscape Park. It is not an urban promenade, so expect mud and uneven ground after rain.

Practical information

Blue Springs are an outdoor site, not a swimming facility. Do not enter the water, damage the bank or plants, or leave litter; this is a protected natural monument. Check the trail route and safe stopping options by the local road, without blocking traffic. For a longer outing, add Mount Zelce or Węże Reserve.
