Krasiński Manor House in Złoty Potok

Key information

Krasiński Manor in Złoty Potok is a single-storey Classical manor house built in 1829 for the Krasiński family. It stands at 11 Tadeusza Kościuszki Street, in a historic park beside the Raczyński Palace. The building houses the Zygmunt Krasiński Regional Museum, making it a literary and history attraction as well as a useful rainy-day stop. Allow about 30–60 minutes for the exhibition, then walk through the park.

Zygmunt Krasiński and the collection

The poet spent the summer of 1857 here, from 29 July to 22 September, with his wife Elżbieta Branicka and their children. The stay ended after the death of their four-year-old daughter Elżbieta; Krasiński never returned. The museum presents the poet and both families. The collection includes first editions, portraits, memorabilia, furniture and paintings. Its best-known object is an Erard piano reportedly chosen for Delfina Potocka with the help of Fryderyk Chopin. Nearby are the Irydion pond, Raczyński Palace and Parkowe reserve with Wiercica springs, about 3.5 km away.

Visiting and planning

Published visitor information lists the museum as closed on Mondays. From April to October it opens Tuesday–Friday 9:00–17:00 and Saturday–Sunday 10:00–18:00. From November to March it opens Monday–Friday 8:00–16:00 and weekends 11:00–15:00. Admission is PLN 4 regular and PLN 2 reduced.
