Aleksandrowice Valley

Aleksandrowicka Valley lies on the Tenczyn Ridge, within Tenczyn Landscape Park, near Kraków. The roughly 3-km valley was carved by the Aleksandrówka stream, exposing Jurassic limestone and creating steep, wooded slopes. It is a quiet choice for a short walk and nature watching in the Kraków–Częstochowa Jura.

Walking route and ponds

The simplest option is the red route from Aleksandrowice to the ponds and back: 2.2 km, about 50 minutes, with roughly 86 m of ascent and 89 m of descent. It starts near the sports field and picnic areas. You will see limestone outcrops and a pond with a willow-covered island. Other descriptions mention an educational path of about 2.5 km, so the distance depends on the route variant.

Krzywy Sąd and Głowa Słonia

The most distinctive rock is Krzywy Sąd, made of resistant Upper Jurassic limestone. Its summit has a viewpoint and climbing routes. Nearby Głowa Słonia is a limestone crag up to 12 m high, with seven routes graded IV+ to VI.4/4+. Climbing requires experience and proper protection; walkers should stay on the path and keep clear of climbers.

Practical information

Entry is free and the outdoor site can be visited year-round. Leave your car near the sports-field parking area in Aleksandrowice and follow the signs on site. The route is short but runs through woodland and can be uneven, so wear sturdy shoes. Take care near the pond and rocks, and do not leave the marked path. You can combine the valley with the local quest or a longer walk across the Tenczyn Ridge.
