Things to do in Czchów
Czchów is a small town on the Dunajec, with a market square laid out in the mid-14th century. Above the houses rises a hill with the tower of a medieval castle, and by the square stands the Gothic Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary with Romanesque details and medieval paintings in the chancel. Behind the dam built in 1938–1948 stretches Lake Czchów, with Tropsztyn Castle on a rock above the water. The surrounding hills belong to the Lesser Poland Wine Route. Czchów makes a good stop for lovers of castles and Gothic art and for short lakeside trips between Tarnów and Nowy Sącz.
