Czantoria Wielka (995 m) is one of the best-known peaks in the Silesian Beskids. Its summit lies on the Polish-Czech border, and the mountain sits on the watershed between the Vistula and Oder basins. Its main advantage is the combination of mountain scenery and easy access from Ustroń: you can hike up or shorten the approach with a chairlift.

Planning the climb

The Czantoria Chairlift starts at Ustroń Polana and takes visitors to the Stokłosica clearing. The ride takes about 8–10 minutes, followed by an easy forest section of around 30 minutes to the summit. You can also hike from Ustroń Polana; the red Main Beskid Trail crosses the peak. Snack bars and family attractions operate near the lower station, so Czantoria works well as a short scenic outing as well as a longer mountain walk.

Observation tower and practical information

The steel observation tower stands on the Czech side of the border, a few minutes from the Polish summit. In September 2026 it is open 9:00–16:00 Monday to Friday and 9:00–17:00 at weekends; admission is CZK 60, or CZK 50 at the reduced rate, and card payment is accepted. Strong wind or bad weather can close the tower, so check the operator’s notice before setting out. Allow around 2–4 hours for the lift, summit walk and tower. Wear shoes with good grip and remember that conditions on the ridge can differ from those in Ustroń.
