Błatnia, formerly known as Błotny, rises to 917 m in the Silesian Beskids. It is a good target for a day hike: the route climbs through forest before opening onto a broad summit meadow with views over the Beskid ridges. The year-round Błatnia PTTK mountain hut nearby lets you combine the walk with a meal or a longer break.
The main reward is not the wooded summit itself but the open meadow and its panorama of the Silesian Beskids, including the Barania Góra range. The approach passes through mixed and beech forests, while the hut makes it easy to plan a rest. Błatnia is also a useful waypoint on routes linking Brenna, Jaworze, Wapienica, Klimczok and Szyndzielnia.
The shortest popular approach starts in central Brenna and follows the green trail for about 1.5–2 hours. From Jaworze, choose a yellow or red route; the blue route from Bielsko-Biała and Wapienica takes about 2.5–3 hours. A longer option follows the ridge via Klimczok and Szyndzielnia. Exact times depend on your start point, pace and trail conditions.
The Błatnia PTTK hut is near the meadow at 20 Błatnia Street in Brenna. It offers accommodation and food; check current booking rules and availability directly before travelling. The trails are free, but can be muddy and slippery after rain, while winter requires preparation for snow and ice. Allow around 3–5 hours including a break at the summit. Bring an offline map, water and shoes with good grip.
