Bike Park Kasina in Kasina Wielka

On the slopes of Śnieżnica (1,006 m) in the Island Beskids, an hour's drive from Kraków, bikes ride up on a six-seater chairlift and come down four trails ranging from smooth flow to black downhill. Bike Park Kasina is the summer side of the Kasina Ski & Bike Park resort, which has operated as a ski area since 1978. At the bottom there is a pump track and a skills park, so it suits families with children as well as experienced riders.

History of the resort

The ski station in Kasina Wielka opened in 1978 and from the start drew locals and visitors from Kraków. In 2002 the T-bar was replaced with a four-seater chairlift, and in 2014 the resort joined the Grupa Pingwina network. A modern six-seater Doppelmayr lift, 1,100 m long and fitted with rain and wind covers, followed, and that is when the bike park was built on the slope. In spring the Young Rider Arena opened as well, with a pump track, an outdoor gym and a playground.

Trails

All trails start at the top station, and bikes hang on hooks by the frame or saddle. According to the operator:

• Blue Cooler (easy/intermediate, 4,500 m) – a fully machine-built flow trail with berms, rollers and bumps; good for first runs and warming up.
• Red Anakonda (advanced, 3,000 m) – a fast, wide jump line with step-ups and tables, no chicken lines.
• Red Dzika (advanced, 1,840 m) – natural, steep and technical, with drops, rocks and roots; the harder sections have go-arounds.
• Black DH Cup (expert, 1,740 m) – the most demanding natural downhill trail, with drops and gaps.
• Black Jumpline (expert) – big L–XL jumps, meaning 6 m and up.

The main bike park page mentions four trails (one blue, two red and one black), while the trail guide also lists the black jump line, so check the current map before you go. The operator grades obstacle sizes from S (2–4 m) to XL (over 8 m).

For beginners

At the bottom of the slope there is an asphalt pump track with berms and rollers that you ride without pedalling, and a skills park with tables, kickers, northshore features and a kicker with a roll-in tower. On site you will find bike rental and a shop, riding lessons, and at weekends an inn and the Moped Retro moped museum.

Prices and hours

As of October 2026 (notice dated 5 October):

• Hours: bike park, rental, inn and museum open Saturday and Sunday 10:00–17:00. The season runs from early spring to late autumn.
• Single ride with bike: PLN 39, pupil/student/senior PLN 34, child PLN 22.
• Day pass: PLN 180 (PLN 161 and PLN 107 reduced); with the "penguin sticker" on your phone PLN 149.
• Card deposit: PLN 10, refunded in cash only. Ticket offices take cards and cash.

Tripto tip

Start on the pump track and a few laps of Blue Cooler before trying the red lines; after rain the natural trails get slippery. The last ride up is 15 minutes before closing. Wear a helmet and pads and ride a well-maintained bike with good brakes. Kasina Wielka is in the Mszana Dolna municipality, and after a day on the trails it is worth visiting the resort's viewing terrace or hiking up Śnieżnica.
