In the park on ulica Dworcowa, between the Water Tower and the former railway station, stand two wooden brine graduation towers (tężnie), with curved rows of benches facing them as if they were a stage. They were officially opened on 11 July 2026, during the town festival Dni Fromborka. They are the newest place to relax in a town that has a health-resort protection zone and is working towards official spa status.
A graduation tower is a structure over which brine trickles. A fine mist, a salty aerosol, rises from its surface, and people come to sit beside it and breathe that air. Frombork built two such structures and redeveloped the whole park around them. The project is part of a programme to revitalise the park inside the spa protection zone (zone B) and cost more than PLN 4.6 million, partly funded by the Polish government's Polski Ład programme. To gain full spa status the town still needs a treatment facility in the strict zone A, so the towers are one step in that direction, not the finish line.
Aerial photos show the layout well: paths of light paving form concentric arcs, strips of lawn with benches run between them, and in the centre stand two wooden walls with a dark infill and a small covered area between them. Next to the towers there is a small amphitheatre and stage for intimate events. The park is split into a sunny part, for resting by the towers, and a shaded part with trees and seating. On some photos the outline of Cathedral Hill is visible above the treetops.
The towers are a few minutes' walk from the Water Tower and Plac Górników, near the Frombork railway stop, and a few hundred metres from Cathedral Hill. Check opening hours and rules of use on the Frombork town website before you come. A visit usually takes 20 to 60 minutes.
The towers fit easily into a short loop through lower Frombork: Water Tower, Copernicus Canal, Plac Górników, the park with the towers, then the Market Square and the climb to Cathedral Hill. The Copernicus Trail, the Green Velo cycle route and the Pomeranian Way of St James all pass through town, so the park is a handy place to rest on the way.
