Industrial Monuments Trail of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship

A car route of 150 km through the sites of the oldest industrial district in Poland: the Old-Polish Industrial District, the most industrialised region of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It links thirteen heritage-of-technology sites — from forges to ironworks and museums.

Forges and rolling mills

On the route are the water forge in Stara Kuźnica, the Technology Museum in Maleniec and the puddling and rolling mill complex in Sielpia Wielka from the first half of the 19th century, today a branch of the Museum of Technology and Industry NOT in Warsaw. The ruins of the Józef ironworks in Samsonów recall a plant operating in 1818–1866.

From Skarżysko to Nowa Słupia

Further on: the White Eagle Museum in Skarżysko-Kamienna, works in Starachowice and Brody, the copper mine adits of Miedzianka and the Museum of Ancient Metallurgy of the Świętokrzyskie region in Nowa Słupia.

In practice

The route is best covered by car in one or two days, starting from Stara Kuźnica or Nowa Słupia; the towns lie in the northern part of the Świętokrzyskie voivodeship.
