Botanical Garden and Fairy-Tale Farm in Zielona Góra

On Botaniczna Street 50A in Zielona Góra runs a botanical garden whose history goes back to a pre-war garden, restored in 2007 and run by the University of Zielona Góra. Across more than 2 hectares grow plants labelled with their names, so a stroll down the avenues doubles as a botany lesson. The second pillar of the place is the Fairy-Tale Farm mini zoo.

A farm full of animals

The Fairy-Tale Farm is home to roe deer fawns, rabbits, meerkats and peacocks, which can be fed and petted. The avenues are livened up by colourful models of fairy-tale characters, thanks to which children gladly explore every corner of the garden. A playground adds to it, so a family outing stretches easily over a few hours.

Practical notes

The garden with the farm is open daily 9:00–18:00, entry involves a small fee. The centre of Zielona Góra is about 2 km away: on the way lie the market square, the September wine festival and the Lubusz Land Museum (2.4 km), which makes the garden easy to fold into a city sightseeing plan.
