Forest Pier in Stary Sącz

At the top of Miejska Góra hill in Stary Sącz begins a treetop path of over 200 metres, ending at the Forest Pier — free, accessible to everyone and with a view that no ticket can buy. The structure was built in a joint cross-border project of Stary Sącz with Levoča in Slovakia, which in return developed the ponds of the Levoča Valley for visitors.

Glass 18 metres above the ground

The route runs along a metal structure on larch platforms. Along the way you will find hammocks for resting, bridges and telescopes for watching the surroundings, while igloo-like round huts present the stages of a frog's development. The heart of the path is a glass panel suspended 18 metres above the ground, with a view straight onto Stary Sącz and the Poprad Valley.

A path for everyone

The entrance starts at ground level on the top of Miejska Góra, and the approach from town is short, though quite steep at first. The structure is fully accessible to wheelchair users — and therefore also to families with very young children. It is a rare case of a viewing path you enter without barriers.

In practice

The Forest Pier has no tickets — it is free all year round. You can leave your car on the market square (free at weekends) or at the free Park and Ride interchange at Pod Ogrodami Street (136 spaces); other car parks are by the Sokół cinema (Batorego 23) and behind the Town Hall.
