Holy Trinity and All Saints Church in Goręczyno

The Holy Trinity and All Saints Church in Goręczyno, in Kashubia, is so important to the area that its likeness found its way onto the coat of arms of the commune of Somonino. The brick, Baroque temple from 1639 stands above the Radunia river, surrounded by a wall amid tidy greenery.

From St. Agatha to the Carthusians

The parish dates back to 1240, when it was erected. The first church was wooden and dedicated to St. Agatha. The present Baroque church was built by the Carthusians in 1639, and in 1905 a transept was added, giving the church the shape of a cross.

Interior

Inside you will see Baroque altars: the high altar of All Saints and the side altars of the Holy Trinity and of the Virgin Mary. The high altar holds a treasured figure of Our Lady of Mercy. On the tall brick tower hangs a historic bell cast as early as 1400 — a witness to the church's history older than its present shell.

Kashubian surroundings

Goręczyno lies at the eastern edge of the Kashubian Landscape Park, on the Radunia, along which runs a popular kayaking trail. The church stands at ul. Kasztelańska 60; after your visit, stop in nearby Kartuzy or set off on a Radunia river trip — the church is clearly visible from the road passing nearby.
