Nakło-Chechło Reservoir

The Nakło-Chechło Reservoir, usually called Chechło, is a popular leisure destination in the Świerklaniec municipality near Tarnowskie Góry. It was created on the site of a former sand pit: extraction ended in 1968 and the recreation centre officially opened on 27 June 1970. Today it attracts visitors looking for a beach, swimming, water sports and an easy escape from the city.

Beach and bathing area

During the summer season, the municipality operates a guarded bathing area at the campsite. Around the reservoir you will find sunbathing spots, sanitary facilities, food outlets, rentals and space for campers or tents. Outside the designated bathing area, do not assume that lifeguard supervision is available.

Active time by the water

Chechło is suitable for kayaking, sailing, fishing and recreation along the shore. Walk the promenade, choose a quieter stretch of water or plan a family day with swimming and equipment rental. The offer and opening of individual services are seasonal.

Getting there and choosing a date

The access road leads from the Lasowice side into Rekreacyjna Street; in season the municipality charges for entry or use of designated areas. The reservoir fills quickly at weekends, so arrive early or choose a weekday. Check current prices, bathing rules, water quality, parking and rental opening hours before travelling.
