Radzionków Outdoor Pools

The seasonal MOSiR outdoor pool complex in Radzionków lies in Księża Góra park, on a hill 357 m above sea level. It has three pools: a 50-metre sports pool, a shallower pool for non-swimmers and a paddling pool with three slides. It is a good choice for a summer day with children, because the ticket also covers the nearby sports pitches, and after a swim you can stroll around the park.

Three pools

• Sports pool – 50 × 19.83 m, depth 1.13 to 2.66 m – the place for proper lane swimming.
• Non-swimmers' pool – rectangular, 21.40 × 10 m, with water 0.58–0.86 m deep.
• Children's paddling pool – 15.10 × 9.45 m, 0.34–0.56 m deep, with three slides.

On the pool's web page MOSiR publishes the rules for the slides, trampoline and water ball as well as water-quality test results for each pool. It is worth reading them before your first visit, especially if your children plan to use the slides.

More in the park

In summer the pool ticket also lets you use the nearby courts for beach volleyball and beach tennis, mini basketball, mini football, football and boules. A pétanque ground with a full-size lane opened here in 2008, and it was the third such facility in the Upper Silesian conurbation. The park has 2.5 km of lit paths for walking, cycling, rollerblading and Nordic walking, and for cross-country skiing in winter. Children can look for Radzio, the friendly nothosaur mascot, in his grotto.

The pools open only in summer: MOSiR gives the season hours as 10:00–19:00, and its website announces closure from 31 August. Prices are set by a mayoral ordinance published on the MOSiR website – check it before you go, along with the opening date of the next season. Księża Góra park is open around the clock, so it is worth a walk outside the bathing season too. Radzionków is also home to the Silesian Botanical Garden, which you can combine with your visit.
