The Carp Days in the Barycz Valley are an autumn programme devoted to Milicz carp, nature and local traditions. From September to November, restaurants, fish farms, guides and organisations invite visitors to events in towns across the valley. This is not one festival at a single address, but a calendar from which you choose events and build an itinerary.
The 2026 edition is the event’s 20th. Organisers have planned more than 100 events across 15 autumn weekends, with over 30 organisations and local businesses involved. The calendar includes fish dinners such as “Fish to the Full”, culinary events, demonstrations, competitions, educational meetings and outdoor activities. Dates, venues and tickets depend on the event.
Choose a public fish harvest and carp tasting, a cycling or kayaking trip, a birdwatching walk with an ornithologist, an angling contest, a workshop or a small family event. In autumn, the ponds and dykes also create a good setting for watching birds and enjoying the landscape. Some activities are free; others require a ticket or advance booking.
Start with the official calendar and filter by date, town and category. Do not navigate to “Carp Days” as one venue: an event may take place in Milicz, Żmigród, Przygodzice or another town. Check the time, address, price and registration rules. Make it a full-day trip by combining the programme with a walk around the Milicz Ponds and a restaurant serving carp. Recheck seasonal dates before travelling.
