Dąbrówka Hill in Chechło

Dąbrówka in Chechło is a 355-metre hill and one of the viewpoints over the Błędów Desert. From the northern side of the desert you can see open sands and the military section of the area. Its main advantage is quick access to the desert landscape: you can reach the viewpoint by car and walk a short distance to the viewing platform.

Platform and desert views

Dąbrówka has a metal viewing platform and information boards. The panorama feels more immediate than from the forested Czubatka: instead of seeing the sands only from above, you can approach their edge and look across the northern part of the desert. The platform is located beside a military area, so use only the visitor infrastructure and follow all signs.

Military area and parachute activity

The northern part of the Błędów Desert is used by the military and is off-limits. From the viewpoint you may sometimes see exercises or parachute jumps, but their timing is not a regular attraction and cannot be guaranteed. Do not cross fences or no-entry signs; extend your walk only along marked, accessible routes.

Access and practical information

Reach Dąbrówka from Chechło via Kluczewska Street; brown tourist signs point the way. There is parking at the foot of the hill, while the platform is an outdoor viewpoint with no ticket office or fixed visiting hours. Bring water, sun protection and shoes with good grip, as sand and exposure make the walk tiring. You can combine the stop with Czubatka, Róża Wiatrów or the blue Przylaszczkowy cycling trail through Chechło.
