Viewpoints
Czubatka is a 382-metre hill in Klucze and a viewpoint over the Błędów Desert. From the landscaped summit you can see both the open sands and the forested parts of the desert. It is a good destination for a short walk or picnic, as well as a starting point for a longer outing on the surrounding trails.
The summit has a shelter, benches and information boards about the Błędów Desert. Come for the broad panorama, but note that this is not a tower with a high viewing deck: the appeal is the natural hill and its open outlook. Czubatka is an outdoor viewpoint with no ticket office; check access conditions and any temporary restrictions before travelling.
From Czubatka, the yellow Desert Trail leads towards Błędów. The section is about 7 km, so allow several hours for the return walk. The landscape changes along the route: forest paths lead towards open sand, while the Green Pond and desert visitor infrastructure lie nearby. You can combine Czubatka with the other viewpoints and the Velo Pustynia route.
Passenger cars and two-wheelers can reach the viewpoint via Rudnicka, Podgórna and Górna streets; brown signs read “Czubatka – Pustynia Błędowska”. Buses cannot use Podgórna or Górna; a coach parking area is provided on Rudnicka Street by the sports field. Entry is free and there are no fixed visiting hours. Bring water and sturdy shoes, especially if you plan to join the trail. Do not enter marked military areas in the northern part of the desert.
