Czupel

The highest peak of the Little Beskids

Czupel is about 930–934 m high and the highest summit of the Little Beskids, which makes it one of Poland’s Crown of Mountains goals. It stands in the western part of the range between the Soła and Biała valleys. The summit is largely forested, while the more open views appear on the approach, around Magurka Wilkowicka and on nearby clearings. This is a quiet Beskid outing for visitors who want a defined mountain goal without Tatra exposure.

Routes to the summit

The popular blue trail from Czernichów leads via Pod Rogaczem and Przełęcz pod Czuplem. The direct approach is roughly 4–5 km and steep in places, so the modest altitude does not mean an effortless walk. Longer options run via Magurka Wilkowicka, where there is a mountain hut, or start at Przełęcz Przegibek. From Międzybrodzie Bialskie and Łodygowice, other loops are possible, with timing depending on the marked sections chosen.

Practical information

Czupel is a free outdoor destination without fixed opening hours or facilities on the summit. Check the current trail map, forecast and parking options at your chosen trailhead. The Czernichów approach can feel more demanding than its short distance suggests; roots and rocks may be slippery after rain. Allow about 4–5 hours for a half-day loop from Czernichów, while a Magurka variant can take most of a day. Bring water, proper shoes and stay on marked trails.
