The Białowieża tourist train is a road-going sightseeing vehicle shaped like a train: a locomotive with covered carriages that travels on streets, not rails. It offers an easy way to see Białowieża and the surroundings of the Białowieża Forest without a long walk.
The operator is Białowieski Express. The train leaves from the car park at 17 Kolejowa Street, next to the PTTK office, and follows sightseeing routes around Białowieża and near the forest. Individual and group rides are available, and groups can arrange a route suited to their programme. Listen to the guide’s commentary and remember that this is a recreational road ride, not a trip on a historic narrow-gauge railway.
The ride can be combined with Białowieża National Park, the Nature and Forest Museum, the European Bison Show Reserve or Białowieża Towarowa station. The station recalls the former Hajnówka–Białowieża line and the history of forest railways.
For the 2026 season, the operator states that from 1 September to 31 October individual rides run only at weekends, with planned departures at 12:30 or 15:00; in July and August daily departures were planned. The train runs with a minimum group of 20, so confirm the date and availability. Prices depend on the route and current offer. Bookings: Białowieski Express, +48 692 558 843. Check the operator’s timetable, departure point and rules for children or groups before travelling.
