Bolków is a small town in the foothills of the Western Sudetes, overlooked by a 13th-century castle with a distinctive wedge pointing towards the entrance. Each year the castle becomes the stage for the Castle Party festival and knights' tournaments. Below it lies a sloping market square with arcaded houses reached by steps, next to the Gothic St Hedwig's Church, and the former Lutheran church now houses the ARS ET HISTORIA gallery. Bolków is worth a few hours on the way into the Sudetes, also combined with nearby Świny Castle.
