Bażantarnia in Siemianowice Śląskie

Bażantarnia is an approximately 40-hectare forest complex in the Bańgów district — the largest woodland area in Siemianowice Śląskie and a protected ecological site valued for recreation. Oaks dominate its varied, mixed-age woodland, alongside hornbeams, limes, ash, birch, sycamore and poplar. The name recalls former pheasant breeding associated with the Donnersmarck family.

Walking, nature and an educational trail

Walking, cycling and nature-education paths run through the forest. Slow down among the old trees and watch for birds; local nature material mentions pheasants, jays, woodpeckers, blackbirds and robins. It works well for an easy walk, a run, a bike ride or a short nature break without leaving the Upper Silesian conurbation.

Family attractions nearby

The neighbouring Rzęsa complex lets you add a walk beside the pond. The city’s attractions map also points to a Dinosaur Clearing, playgrounds, a brine graduation tower, a dog run and benches in the area. The golf course and shooting range are nearby but separate facilities with their own rules.

Access, parking and planning

Bażantarnia is an outdoor attraction with free admission; free parking is indicated near Spacerowa Avenue. There are no ticket offices or standard opening hours, but forest paths may be less comfortable after rain or after dark. Allow about 1–2 hours for a family visit combining the Dinosaur Clearing and Rzęsa pond. Check path conditions and the current infrastructure before travelling, as outdoor facilities can change.
